What is GPHMC?

Gulabrao Patil Homoeopathic Medical College was established in the memory of Honorable, Sahakar Maharshi, Ex- Member of Parliament, Late Shri Gulabrao Patil. Founder Chairman Prithviraj Patil, son of Gulabrao Patil started this College in the memory of his father 32 Years ago to uplift the ideas and fulfil the dream of his father in the field of Health, Education, and Co-operative sector for the society. Thereby, Gulabrao Patil Homoeopathic Medical College was set up on 21st September1991 and started functioning in November 1991. The construction of the college building was started in the year 1997. The institute is said to be the best in the field of Homoeopathy in western Maharashtra, the sapling, has grown in to a big banyan tree now. At present there are 32 faculties working in 12 departments. Due to a great number of senior faculties working in various department since the first day of the college. We have produced academic excellence & many gold medalists in the last 30 years which is a pride for the institute. We have five ICT enabled classrooms which enhance 5- dimensional teaching method for better understanding for students. This way we keep up with the trending technological teaching standards. We have an open auditorium to conduct symposiums. We have a clean & Green campus. The Institute conducts Extension & Outreach activities in collaboration with various institutes & hospitals. The college awarded by the Best NSS unit award at the University & State level awarded by Government of Maharashtra. The college won the best NSS unit award and Dr Jineshwar Yaligouda was awarded the Best NSS Programme officer award. The Institute was a coordinator for conducting MUHS Nashik, SPANDAN state level cultural fest. More than 25 gold medallists consistently, is truly a sign of Academic excellence since inception. Our faculties have been selected as senate members, member of Board of studies, academic members and chairman of BOS at Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Nashik and Bharti Vidyapeeth, Pune. At Present the institute is led under the able, young and dynamic leadership of the new generation, Advocate Virendrasinh Prithviraj Patil (Trustee) to create an exemplary institute stepping at fore front of health care education, research and facilitation through innovations.

Institutional Vision and Leadership

The vision &mission statement of the college clearly highlights the budding Homoeopaths to carry forward their mission of curing the sick, dedicatedly shoulder responsibilities and ability to cope with challenges and problems and bring about Holistic health in the community. The institute strives for achieving excellence through its well formulated goals & objectives to achieve the same. The institution also promotes a culture of participative management.

Strategy Development and Deployment

The institution strives to achieve continuous growth in every aspect. It has fulfilled the minimum standard requirement set forth by AYUSH, CCH and MUHS. The institution has framed its own vision and mission and efforts are made by every member of the institution to achieve them. The institution aims at bringing about Holistic health in the community with spread of Homoeopathy. The institution has implemented advanced methods in teaching & learning. Access to E-library, use of audio-visual aids, PPT presentations, problem based learning have facilitated easy understanding among the students They are encouraged to enact roles and perform plays to inculcate interest in active learning The faculties are encouraged to attend various lectures, and training programmes.


Community-based learning is achieved by the activities of PSM department& NSS Unit through organization of health check-up, blood donation camps, surveys and awareness programmes Data procured from these help in adopting new health related developmental strategies. The institution encourages celebrating the National Days of Importance like World TB Day, World AIDS day to spread awareness about the disease and it's preventive measures in masses.

Faculty Empowerment Strategies

Our college regularly encourages its staff to attend seminars, workshops, conferences, training programmes conducted by various recognized Institutions/agencies. Orientation Programmes and Workshop are arranged by the college for the teaching faculty. Innovative ideas are appreciated and implemented by the institution Special lectures are scheduled for the faculty to motivate and enrich their knowledge & skills. Non-teaching staff are encouraged to undergo training in the use of latest software to generate data concerning to admission, staff accounts and administrative procedures. A training programme in computer & communication skills is arranged for the new staff Professional Development Programmes have encouraged the faculty to advanced teaching learning methods, use of latest technology and have sharpened their skills in teaching leaning & evaluation.
